Cordova Baptist Preschool & Kindergarten opened in 1963. CBPK is dedicated to serving the youngest members of the community — providing a warm, safe, and nurturing environment where children can explore, laugh, and grow.
Our Philosophy
At Cordova Baptist Preschool & Kindergarten, our focus is on helping every child grow into their fullest potential. We provide a safe, joyful environment that supports intellectual, creative, social, emotional, and physical development. We encourage children to learn, play, and thrive with confidence.
Founded more than sixty years ago as an outreach of Cordova Baptist Church, CBPK was created to share care, stability, and support with local families. That same spirit guides us today. We are non-sectarian and welcome children and families of all faiths and backgrounds.
We believe learning happens best through discovery. We provide opportunities for children to take risks, be creative, and think independently while building skills in a nurturing environment. Through play, exploration, and guided experiences, they develop the curiosity and confidence to become lifelong learners.
Our staff are experienced, dedicated educators who are recognized for their commitment to young children and their families. With a blend of professional expertise and genuine care, they create an extraordinary program where children feel supported and celebrated every day.

Community Garden
Nestled behind our classrooms, our community garden is a hands-on learning space where children help plant, tend, and harvest fresh produce. Once a year, parents join in the planting, and kids delight in watching seeds grow into real food they can enjoy.
Summer Swimming Program
When summer arrives, our students get to splash, play, and build confidence in the water. Our seasonal swim program brings joy, promotes physical activity, and enhances coordination in a fun, safe environment.
Music & Discovery Rooms
From rhythm and song to exploration and imagination, our dedicated music room and community “Discovery” space offer rich environments for creative expression, social learning, and hands-on play discovery.
Bright, Child-Friendly Classrooms
Our classrooms are thoughtfully designed to welcome young learners—full of light, warmth, and accessible materials that encourage curiosity, comfort, and independent exploration.

At CBPK, we believe childhood should be full of learning and wonder, and we strive to fill the year with special events, activities, and moments to create lifelong memories for our students.
Learning Themes
At CBPK, learning comes to life through weekly themes that spark curiosity and imagination. For example, each May, we dedicate a week to celebrating Community Helpers, introducing children to the many important roles adults play in keeping our neighborhoods thriving — from teachers, librarians, and medical professionals to safety officers, farmers, parents, and more. The week culminates in Community Helper Day, when students get to step into these roles themselves, exploring different jobs and discovering how rewarding it feels to use their talents to support others.
Amazing Athletes
At CBPK, we’re thrilled to host the Amazing Athletes program, a fun and energetic multi‑sport enrichment experience. Through weekly classes right here on campus, your child will explore age‑appropriate activities drawn from 10 different sports in a playful, non‑competitive environment. The program helps young learners build balance, coordination, and confidence while introducing healthy habits, muscle awareness, and teamwork—setting the foundation for active, lifelong learning.
Special Visitors
At CBPK, learning goes beyond the classroom walls. Throughout the year, we invite special visitors to campus to create memorable experiences for our students. From meeting local firefighters and learning about safety, to enjoying a visit from Santa Claus during the holidays, these guests bring joy, spark curiosity, and connect children with the wider world around them. Each visit is a chance to learn something new while making school days even more magical.
